Description of Sport: We play a combination of 40 over cricket, with a round of 20 over cricket as well.

Club Information: Stanthorpe and District Cricket Association brings together players from across the Granite Belt to participate in one of the region’s most traditional and well-loved sports. The association consists of four proud clubs—Souths, Valleys, RSL and Wanderers—who compete throughout the season while fostering skill, patience and strong sportsmanship. Built on the commitment of volunteers, the association plays a key role in sustaining local cricket pathways and strengthening community connection.

 

Season Information: Generally our season starts on the first weekend of October and ends late March.

Age Group & Genders: Our age group ranges from 12 year old all the way up to veterans.  For more information regarding juniors, please see the Stanthorpe Junior Cricket page.

Cost: We aim to keep playing costs to a minimum.  Registration/insurance is usually around $40 plus $10 each game for umpire’s / ball fees.

Training Days: We utilise the Stanthorpe State High School cricket nets which are available any day, however team training sessions are as follows:

Valleys – Tuesday, RSL – Wednesday, Souths – Thursday, Wanderers – Friday.

Location: C.F. White & Sheahan Ovals in Stanthorpe

Travel Requirements: Individual travel to games, unless individual teams organise their own bus.  Representative teams travel to some games by bus.

Uniform/Equipment Supplied: Each player will need their own playing whites, spikes and cricket gear.  Each club in the past have ordered team shirts / hats etc, however that is a club decision.

Special Needs Inclusion: Clubhouse and facilities have wheelchair access.

Volunteers Roles: Our club often has working bees where we upgrade facilities and prepare for the upcoming season.

Representative Opportunities: Representative teams (Mitchell and Dud Davis Shield Teams) play throughout the summer which involves Stanthorpe, Lockyer, Warwick, Central Downs and Toowoomba. This is usually played over 4 / 5  Sundays and is a 50 over game.
